From tube to preparation
The workflow in five steps, using Vi PRP-PRO as an example, as a guide for everyday practice.
Draw blood
The vacuum fills the tube with about 9 ml of blood.
Mix
Gently invert the tube 7 times so that blood and sodium citrate combine.
Centrifuge
1200 × g for 7 minutes, with the rotor loaded symmetrically.
Collect the PRP
Draw off the plasma fraction above the gel barrier using sterile accessories.
Use promptly
Within 4 hours of preparation.

The speeds are rounded guide values for 1200 × g and depend on the rotor radius. The instructions for use of the tube and centrifuge and your internal work instructions take precedence.

Who can order from prplab?

Which tube do I need?
Vi PRP-PRO is ready to use for PRP, with 0.8 ml sodium citrate and separator gel. Density is supplied empty and, according to the manufacturer, is intended for PRF without anticoagulant and for PRP with heparin or citrate. You will find a side-by-side comparison in the system comparison.
Set or individual products?
Without a centrifuge, a Starter Set is the easiest way to begin, with either the Hettich EBA 200 MD or the compact SERVOspin Evolve. If you already have a centrifuge, tubes or the PRP Professional Set are all you need. The guide shows the four typical cases.
Which centrifuge is right for me?
Our range includes three centrifuges: the Hettich EBA 200 MD as a class IIa medical device, and the Hettich EBA 270 and SERVOspin Evolve as in vitro diagnostic devices under the IVDR. For the 1200 × g required by Vi PRP-PRO, this works out at approximately 3,500, 2,900 and 3,400 rpm respectively. Which classification your workflow requires depends on the intended purpose of all products used. Other centrifuges must be approved for 9 ml glass tubes; the speed depends on their rotor radius.
